What is VPC, Subnet, Route Table, Internet Gateway, Nat Gateway



Dear Cloud / AWS learners,

I hope you all are doing good. Today we are going to learn about a very interesting AWS Concept, which is called VPC.

For people who are working in AWS or even for  beginners, VPC is a known  term, who don't know about it. Check the below video available in Hindi language and get some good idea. Rest Information is given below, Hope you will enjoy this and learn from it.

VPC -- Virtual Private Cloud. AWS is basically working on Public Cloud platform and provides its user a by default public network. You can use it to launch your servers via EC2 service and will get an Internet connectivity to connect with your servers and can run Internet too on those servers.

Internet Gateway is a tool which is  by default connected with default VPC and used to provide Internet Connectivity.

by Using VPC service, you can create your own dedicated customized network range and can launch resources like EC2, S3, databases and other resources in your own dedicated network which is isolated from other network. Only your company network or the resources you allowed to access them can access them.

By Default Internet will not run on these servers and they will not get the public IP so cannot be connected via Internet. You can launch a VPC network range like 10.0.0.0/16.

Subnets  --- In VPC, you can create different subnets like 10.0.1.0/24 or some other customized subnets and can keep your resources in different subnet/network ranges.

Route Table -- These table are used to define Routes for your subnets. You can attach subnets to your route table and can define customized routes. Internet Gateway and Network Gateway is also used to attach via Route Table.

Internet Gateway  - IG is used to provide Internet connectivity to the servers of subnets with which it is attached. Without Internet Gateway, you will not be able to run Internet on servers.

The resource group can include all the resources for the solution, or only those resources that you want to manage as a group.
